I build websites with the same care you pour into the glass.
I'm the one person behind Stave. I build boutique websites and the commerce behind them for wineries, breweries, cideries and meaderies, all by hand. Every one is made to rank on Google, get picked up when someone asks an AI where to drink, and stay quick and easy to use for everyone who walks in.
Breweries
Your tap list updates itself, your release pages hold up when the drop lands, and I lay the details out so an AI points people to your taproom by name.
For breweries →
Wineries
Vintages, allocations and the club stay straight from cellar to checkout, and when someone asks an AI where to go tasting, yours is the name it gives.
For wineries →
Meaderies
Mead still needs a little explaining, so your site teaches while it sells. Batch stories and honey varietals up front, structured data underneath that tells a search engine what mead even is and points it at yours.
For meaderies →
Cideries
Room for the seasonal pressings and the orchard story, a shop that ships wherever it's allowed, and hours an AI gets right when someone's deciding where to go.

02 The platform
Every site I build runs on Stave.
It's one system I made for beverage businesses and nothing else. The pieces your place actually runs on come with the site, and if you need something no off-the-shelf tool does, I build it.
It wires into the till, the shipper, and the tools you already use, so what the customer sees at checkout is what actually happens.
More on the platformWhich ones your site uses depends on how you run.
03 Featured work

Golden Road Vineyards
→A hilltop vineyard whose tasting hours sat three clicks deep. The new site opens with the view, puts the drive and the pour times on the first screen, and sells the club and the bottles without sending anyone elsewhere.
04 Services
Estate & taproom sites
Your story, your list, your hours and your events, all editable by whoever answers the phone on a Saturday.
Release day & club
Allocation pages that stay standing when everyone shows up at once, member sign-ups, and a store wired so orders actually ship.
The SEO that always mattered, plus the newer part of the job. Your styles, region and hours get structured so ChatGPT and Perplexity can read the site and send people your way.
Care after launch
New releases, seasonal swaps, keeping an eye on things, and the site kept quick before a big drop. Month to month, and you can walk away whenever.
05 Questions
What does Stave do?
I design and build websites and online stores for craft beverage makers: wineries, breweries, cideries and meaderies. Every project is mine start to finish, covers design, engineering, SEO and AI-search visibility, and runs on Stave, my own platform, for club, events and online sales.
Who does Stave work with?
Independent makers with a tasting room: wineries, breweries, cideries and meaderies. Also taprooms that pour a few different brands and have to represent someone else’s beer accurately. I’m based in North Carolina and work with people anywhere, remotely. I only take a few builds a year, so each one gets my full attention.
What does a website cost?
There’s no price list, because a small tasting-room site and a full club-and-commerce build aren’t the same job. After one conversation about how your place runs, I’ll give you a fixed number. No hourly surprises, and ongoing care is month to month with no lock-in.
How do you get a winery or brewery cited by AI?
I make the site machine-readable and specific: structured data for the business, its pours, hours and events, real pages instead of PDFs, answer-first writing, and access for the AI crawlers like GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot. Those are the pages the assistants actually pull from and quote.
Can staff update the site after launch?
Yes. New releases, hours, tap changes and events are plain forms, with no developer and no clunky page-builder to fight. Whoever’s behind the bar can keep it current from their phone.
Can you connect to our POS and club software?
Usually. I can connect Square, Toast, Arryved, Ollie, Untappd, Commerce7, WineDirect, Vinoshipper, Stripe, Mailchimp and Google Business Profile, among others. Which ones your site uses depends on how you run, and if something’s missing, I build it.
06 The studio

One set of hands,
start to finish.
Stave is me, Matt Stvartak. I take the first call, design the site, write the code and answer the email after launch. I take on a few builds a year so each one gets done properly. Fifteen years of design and engineering, fourteen of them in North Carolina. My family has had a place in the Yadkin Valley since 2011, which is how the first client came to be a vineyard.

Every cellar, taproom and orchard runs differently, so the number comes after the conversation rather than before it.
